Sign of a happy dog

Exercise your dog means more than just letting them out the back to go to the bathroom. Remember a tired dog = happy owner!  ( this is 2 year old Sammy...a mix lab/pointer who loves to fetch and run. And then do it again and again!)

What is the definition of obsession: My young jack russell / mix fetching a tennis ball …

Oh yes,,jack Russell’s are notoriously OCD! They are so much fun…just have to set boundaries and let them know you are in charge of the play time, not them. I hate the begging and stuff…and they know there’s a time and place and no means no. Having lots of kong toys helps,,,we have found it’s the only toy that lasts with our dogs. Stuffed or other brands do not last.

That’s very true! Makes me laugh watching the two new ones learning to interact with each other! Sammy our two year old really hasn’t been around pups, just the older dog that recently passed…so he is learning a whole new way to interact

I love labs! I find them to be just about the best family dog there is.

This particular dog is two…his 15 year old brother passed away 2 weeks ago. We had been thinking of getting a younger dog to play with sam to take some of his energy lol…so we adopted a one year beagle mix a week ago. But exercising older dogs is important too…you have to make adjustments. When we took the dogs walking..we just let the older one walk with us,,,and played fetch with the two year old.
